Welcome to Little Red’s Adventures

Hello friends,

I’m so excited to welcome you to my blog and introduce you to a very special little character named Little Red.

The idea for Little Red came to me while my husband John and I were visiting family in the Midwest. As we traveled through the countryside, I noticed the beautiful old red barns scattered across the farms. Many of them stood proudly on land divided by highways and roads. I learned that when farmers need to relocate those barns to another part of their property, the barns often cannot fit through tunnels or underpasses. Sadly, many must be torn down instead of saved.

That thought stayed with me.

I began imagining one little red barn that would be saved and given a new chance at life. I wondered what he might feel if he had to leave everything familiar behind and travel somewhere new. That small idea soon became my book, Little Red Rolls Away.

Since then, Little Red has continued his adventures far beyond the pages of the book. He now travels as we explore new places, meet wonderful people, and create special memories together. Along the way, Little Red discovers that the world is full of kindness, friendship, surprises, and adventure.

I’m excited to share many of Little Red’s travels with you here on this blog.

One of Little Red’s favorite adventures was his trip to Southern California to visit my nieces and nephews.

From the moment he arrived, Little Red was ready for fun.

He spent the day laughing and playing with the children on the playground. He joined everyone for lunch and loved being part of all the excitement and conversation.

A group of children and an adult woman pose happily together in a sunny backyard setting, with colorful playground equipment in the background. The children hold small red and white objects while smiling and interacting.

A young girl in a pink floral dress kisses a small toy barn in a sunlit patio surrounded by shadows.

But one of the funniest moments of all was when Little Red got to enjoy a piggyback ride on a tortoise.

Yes… a tortoise!

Little Red thought it was one of the greatest adventures ever!

Watching the children interact with Little Red reminded me why stories are so important. Children naturally bring imagination to life. A simple little barn can become a friend, a traveler, and part of a treasured memory.

I hope these adventures bring smiles to your family and encourage children to stay curious, imaginative, and open to new experiences.

Thank you for joining us on Little Red’s journey. We cannot wait to share more adventures with you soon. Get your copy of LITTLE RED ROLLS AWAY here.

With love,

Linda
